What’s happening to the travel insurance in my Lunar plan?
The travel insurance included in your plan will expire on 31 December 2026.
Is my travel insurance still valid until then?
Yes. Until December 31st, 2026, nothing changes, and you have the same cover as today.
What exactly is covered, and what isn’t?
Anything that happens to you on or before December 31st, 2026, is covered. Anything that happens on or after January 1st 2027, is not covered. If travel insurance is needed, you will need to arrange an alternative travel insurance policy yourself.
My trip starts in 2026 and continues into 2027. Am I covered for the whole trip?
No. Your cover ends on December 31st 2026, and does not continue to the end of your trip. If you are still travelling after that date, you need to arrange your own travel insurance starting on January 1st 2027.
I have a trip planned for 2027. What should I do?
You will need to arrange your own travel insurance for that trip. Check whether your home contents insurance, payment card, or another policy already includes travel cover, or take out a new policy before you travel.
My plan includes trip cancellation cover. Does it still apply to my 2027 trip?
No. Cancellation cover does not apply to a cancellation that happens after 31 December 2026, even if you booked and paid for the trip during 2026.
Can I still make a claim after December 31st 2026?
Yes. If something happened while you were covered, you can still make a claim after December 31st 2026.
Which plans are affected?
The insurance ends for all Lunar plans that include it: Plus and Unlimited for personal customers, and Essential and Limitless for business customers.
Why is Lunar removing the travel insurance?
We have found that the insurance does not align with what our customers need from us, and many already have travel insurance elsewhere. We want to offer partnerships that create value for a larger group of our customers.
Can I keep my insurance with Tryg?
You can take out travel insurance directly with Tryg or another provider.
Will Lunar offer a new travel insurance?
We are continually exploring useful, value-creating partnerships for our customers. We do this through customer interviews and data collection. Based on the data we gather, we will do our best to meet all our customers’ needs. If you currently rely on the travel insurance we offer today, please find an alternative product.
