It can cost you dearly if you have an accident while travelling and you're not insured. With Lunar Premium and Pro, you don't have to worry about that. If you purchase your travel and accommodation for your vacation with your Lunar Premium or Pro debit card, you're automatically covered by premium travel and baggage insurance from Tryg.

In this article, we've tried to outline the most important things you need to know about your insurance. You can learn more about:

  • When the insurance applies

  • How to report a claim

  • What types of trips your insurance covers

  • How you are covered by the insurance

When does the insurance apply?

To activate the insurance, the following must be paid with a Lunar Plus/Unlimited card:

  • 60% of the total travel expenses.

  • 60% of the total transportation and travel expenses (fuel, ferry, accommodation etc.) for trips in your own car.

Please note that the insurance only covers trips with a maximum duration of 30 days.

How do I report a claim?

If you need help or advice regarding a claim or accident, contact Tryg via a phone number that you can find in your app.

Here's how to find it:

  1. Open your Lunar app and select the Explore tab in the menu at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Find Insurance under Account Benefits and click here. Then click on your travel insurance on the overview page.

  3. Select Report a claim. If you need emergency assistance, tap Call emergency. Otherwise, tap Call.

You will now be able to call Tryg directly, who will process your claim on behalf of Lunar.

When you call via the Lunar app, Tryg will know in advance that you are covered via Lunar Premium or Pro.

What does my travel and baggage insurance cover?

Covered travel types

Your travel insurance covers the following private trips:

  • Holiday trips

  • Ski trips

  • Study trips

  • Study trips (where you are enrolled in a secondary or higher education institution)

  • Unpaid humanitarian work (we do not consider paid board, lodging and transportation as salary)

  • Holiday trips where business is involved

The insurance does not cover business trips, but can cover trips that consist of both vacation and business:

If you are on a business trip, your travel insurance will only cover the vacation portion of the trip, if any, and only applies if no business trip insurance has been purchased that includes vacation days. Vacation days can be before or after the business trip. Days off between days of business work are considered business.

If you have a business visit of a maximum of one day on a holiday trip (e.g. a visit to a business partner), your travel insurance will also cover this.

Dangerous Sports activities

The insurance includes Dangerous Sports. Dangerous sports are training or participation in e.g. motor racing, diving, bungee jumping, mountain climbing and so on.

The insurance does not cover damage that occurs directly or indirectly as a result of participation in:

  • Expeditions.

  • Professional sports (i.e. sports for which you are paid).

How you're covered by the insurance

Your travel insurance covers, for example, baggage delay, personal and property damage, home transport in case of illness - and much more. To get an overview of how you're covered, you can read more in our insurance terms, which you can find on our website. Click here to go to the website.
