In order to open a Lunar account, you must submit an application first. You fill out this application in our app, and we will guide you through the process! You download our app in either the App Store or Google Play.
You can apply if you meet the following requirements:
You are over 15 years old
You have a valid MitID
You have a valid passport, driver's license or national identity card
To start your Lunar application, you must open the app. When you open the app, tap on 'Get your account now'.
If you have previously started an application for a personal account with Lunar, click on 'Log in' instead of 'Get your account now'.
Application process:
During the application, you will have to state information about yourself and the intended use of your bank account with Lunar. As we are a 100% online bank, we unfortunately do not have the opportunity to meet you in person. Therefore, we need a little more information about you and your expectations for how you will use your account.
You will also have the opportunity to explore our different packages and choose the one that best suits your needs.
Once you have completed the application, it will be sent to us. If we have any questions for you, we will reach out - either via email or directly through the app 📱
You will also receive a notification in the app when we have processed your application. You can see the estimated processing time in the app.

We at Lunar Bank are a 100% digital banking app. The first thing you need to do to initiate an application is to download the Lunar app on your mobile phone.
We want everyone to feel welcome at Lunar. However, as a bank, we need to comply with requirements from various laws and regulations.
You can apply if you meet the following:
have a valid citizenship
have a BankID
are registered at a valid residential address within the EU/EEA
are at least 18 years old
Here's how to get started:
Open the Lunar app on your mobile and tap on "Apply now"
Follow the steps by answering the questions
In the final step, submit your application by swiping your finger across the arrow from left to right
Application process:
During the application, you will have to state information about yourself and the intended use of your bank account with Lunar. You will also learn about our different subscriptions and choose the one that will fill your needs.
When you finish your application, it will be sent to us. In case we have any further questions for you, we will reach out to you — either by email or directly through the app.
We will also let you know through the app when we have processed your application.
